Nairn feels better but not well enough to play

EAST LANSING – Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo got a shot to take care of his plantar fasciitis last year, but that didn’t work so well for his sophomore point guard, Tum Tum Nairn.

Nairn got a second shot Saturday, the day after Izzo decided to shut him down indefinitely and the day before No. 11 MSU’s first game without him: a 77-76 loss at Wisconsin.

“It doesn’t hurt like it used to, all night,” Nairn said Monday of his right foot, which started getting painful last season and even more intensely during the summer.
