East Lansing – Michigan State women’s basketball coach Suzy Merchant collapsed on the sidelines during Sunday afternoon’s game at the Breslin Center and was taken to an area hospital after being helped back to the locker room.
Michigan State spokesperson Kara Fisher said Merchant was OK and was undergoing tests.
The incident happened in the fourth quarter of Michigan State’s 71-47 victory over Illinois. Merchant, 47, is in her 10th season leading the Michigan State women.
