Mark Dantonio got some good news Wednesday on his way to Massillon, Ohio. Michigan State landed a “road-grader” offensive lineman from the famed football factory town.
Matt Carrick, a junior at Perry High in Massillon, became the Spartans’ sixth commitment for their 2017 recruiting class. Jim Bollman and Mark Staten stopped at Perry High this week, and Carrick called Dantonio on Wednesday morning to give his verbal pledge, Carrick’s high school coach Keith Wakefield said.
“Coach D and the rest of his staff are truly amazing. I love all their coaches,” Carrick said tonight. “I felt that was the best place for me as a guard because we do mostly run stuff at my high school now, and I love being on an offensive line and just taking it someone when we’re run-blocking.
