MADISON, Wis. -- MSU sophomore point guard Tum Tum Nairn will miss today's game at Wisconsin (1:30 p.m., CBS), and likely at least two weeks because of plantar fasciitis in his right foot.
MSU coach Tom Izzo made that announcement today on the Spartan Sports Network. Freshman Matt McQuaid will start in Nairn's place.
Izzo also announced he is starting Eron Harris instead of Bryn Forbes at shooting guard, and Deyonta Davis instead of Gavin Schilling at power forward.
So that's a first-time starting lineup of McQuaid, Harris, Denzel Valentine, Davis and Matt Costello. With Nairn out, Valentine will play more minutes at point guard, Izzo said, and that could mean more minutes for Javon Bess on the wing.
