EAST LANSING -- Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio compared Monty Madaris to former receiver Bennie Fowler during media day Monday.
That comparison is admirable. Fowler played 44 games for the Spartans, recording 94 receptions for 1,241 yards. His 11 career receiving touchdowns were the 11th most in program history.
Fowler is currently a second-year player for the Denver Broncos, who won the Super Bowl and utilized a Fowler 2-point conversion to ensure a win, 24-10, over the Carolina Panthers.
But when asked about the comparison to Fowler, Madaris said he more resembles Dez Bryant in how the Dallas Cowboys receiver plays big and strong.
