EAST LANSING – Michigan State interim president John Engler said the weight has been lifted off him and the school’s football and basketball programs.
Engler, speaking on the WMMQ-FM 94.9 pregame show Friday, breathed a sigh of relief after the NCAA announced it found no violations in the wake of one of the most turbulent six-month stretches in the university's history.
The NCAA opened separate inquiries into the Larry Nassar scandal and also allegations of mishandling reports of sexual assault and misconduct against football and basketball players. The NCAA sent a letter Wednesday clearing the university.
