EAST LANSING – Monday was a double-transfer day for Michigan State basketball – both going elsewhere, one surprising and one not so much.
Sophomore forwards Marvin Clark and Javon Bess will each finish their two years of eligibility elsewhere, MSU confirmed with a press release this evening. There is no word yet on where either will land.
The 6-foot-5 Bess, of Gahanna, Ohio, fell out of MSU’s rotation during the Spartans’ 29-6 season, after foot surgery robbed him of most of his freshman season. His opportunity for playing time moving forward, with Tom Izzo’s most celebrated class arriving in the fall, looked slim.
