John Engler's days as the interim president of Michigan State University appear to be over.
Trustee Kelly Tebay said Wednesday she was alerted by the president's office that Engler was drafting a resignation letter as the board scheduled a special meeting for Thursday morning to discuss his employment.
The meeting was called in the wake of an explosive comment Engler made to The Detroit News last week that victims of serial pedophile Larry Nassar were "enjoying" the spotlight.
As of late Wednesday afternoon, Tebay said she had not received a resignation letter from Engler, and she said it's not clear if he will submit it Wednesday or Thursday.
