A Michigan State University trustee said Wednesday she is "very confident" that there are five votes to terminate Interim President John Engler, while the board chair said a potential successor will be at a special meeting called to discuss Engler's employment.
Engler, who was brought in at the height of the scandal, has come under renewed criticism for a comment he made last week about victims of sexual predator Larry Nassar "enjoying" being in the spotlight.
"After he made this statement, it was pretty clear to the majority of the board that something needed to happen," Trustee Brianna Scott told The Detroit News.
