East Lansing – By the time center Jack Allen was running into the end zone for a touchdown in the fourth quarter on Saturday, Michigan State's game against Penn State had long been decided.
The Spartans entered the season with their first goal being to win the East Division of the Big Ten. They checked that off the list after Saturday's 55-16 victory over Penn State in front of 74,705 at Spartan Stadium.
Bigger goals still await as No. 6 Michigan State (11-1, 7-1 Big Ten) clinched its third trip to the Big Ten Championship game in the last five years and set its sights on unbeaten Iowa next week in Indianapolis.
