Rosemont, Ill. – Michigan State senior guard Cassius Winston was named the Big Ten Preseason Player of the Year on Wednesday.
Winston is the first Spartan to earn the honor since Miles Bridges was named the Preseason Player of the Year heading into the 2017-18 season. Winston, who averaged 18.8 points and 7.5 assists last season, is the reigning Big Ten Player of the Year and helped lead Michigan State to regular season and conference tournament championships as well as a trip to the Final Four.
