Mark Dantonio, Jalen Watts-Jackson and, of course, Chris Baldwin all shared the spotlight at ESPN’s College Football Awards on Thursday night in Atlanta.
For those who actually aren’t familiar, Baldwin is the Michigan student whose look of shock following Watts-Jackson’s shocking touchdown to beat U-M on Oct. 17 has turned him into a celebrity – news stories, Halloween pumpkins carved to look like him, and now an ESPN gig.
He was on hand to give Dantonio the trophy for the College Football Play of the Year, as voted on by fans. Watts-Jackson returned a fumbled punt 38 yards as time expired for the 27-23 win, dislocating and fracturing a hip in the process and making MSU’s run to the College Football Playoff possible.
