LINCOLN, Neb. — Chris Solari rates the Spartans on a scale of 1 to 10 after their 9-6 loss at Nebraska on Saturday.
Offense: 2
The cold and windy conditions were not beneficial for a passing game, but the Spartans continually struggled with drops among the 41 passes from Rocky Lombardi. The redshirt freshman had passes occasionally sail with the wind and hung up his interception into the gusts. He also committed a costly fumble that set up Nebraska for a short-field, game-tying field goal midway through the fourth quarter. The MSU run game did produce 143 yards, but the Spartans abandoned it in their final two drives after falling behind — running just a designed play for Lombardi.
