EAST LANSING – This could have been the play everyone talked about this week, and Michigan State senior fullback Trevon Pendleton could have been the player.
Co-offensive coordinator Dave Warner came up with it while going through Michigan defensive film the week leading up to the Spartans' 31-24 win at Rutgers. It was installed the Tuesday before MSU's 27-23 win at U-M and practiced several times, but it never was as wide open in practice as it was in the fourth quarter Saturday, when Pendleton took a short Connor Cook pass, rumbled 74 yards to the Michigan 1 and set up the score that cut the Wolverines' lead to 23-21.
