HANOVER - From the moment Judy Rector stepped foot on the course this season, she was strictly business.
After all, she had lost time to make up for because it wasn't that long ago where she'd lost the ability to do her favorite activity - run.
Rector suffered from a condition called "slipping rib syndrome," where the cartilage that holds the lower ribs moves around and can cause severe pain, causing her to miss the end of her sophomore cross country season as well as the entire track & field season that year.
She returned seemingly better than ever as a junior, breaking 19:00 in four races and winning eight out of 14 events.
