EAST LANSING – It takes a closer look, and maybe a little bit of slow motion, and then it’s easy to tell Michigan State’s tying touchdown Saturday at Ohio State was like countless other successful running plays this season for the Spartans — created in part by tight end Paul Lang.
People associate offensive line play with running success, but the tight ends, receivers and fullbacks (for teams such as MSU that have them) are important as well. On Gerald Holmes’ 2-yard plunge to make it 14-14 early in the fourth quarter of a 17-14 MSU win, Lang was the key.
