INDIANAPOLIS – When Michigan State got to halftime Thursday night in the Big Ten tournament down by seven, MSU coach Suzy Merchant knew change was essential.
Her team was getting dominated in the paint by Wisconsin, the offense was sluggish and her star, Tori Jankoska, looked off through the entire half.
Merchant knocked down the issues one by one, with the last one -- getting Jankoska going -- being the most critical.
The reset worked as the No. 6 seed Spartans rallied from deficit to win the tournament game, 70-63 over the No. 11 seed Badgers at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
