EAST LANSING - Mike Tressel has been at Michigan State for the last 11 seasons and spent every one of those 145 games on the field.
However, Tressel's view of the action could change in year 12.
After sharing co-defensive coordinator duties for three seasons, Tressel was promoted to defensive coordinator in January by coach Mark Dantonio, following Harlon Barnett's departure for Florida State. So, he may be trading a spot on the sideline for Barnett's former place in the press box now that he's calling Michigan State's defense.

"We have three scrimmages during fall camp where we're going to get to experiment that a little bit," Tressel said Monday.
