EAST LANSING - A night after a 3-2 overtime win, the Michigan State hockey team fell to Michigan Tech, 5-1, on Saturday evening at Munn Ice Arena. Leading 2-1 just past the midway point of the second period, MTU added a goal during a 5-on-3 power play and then tacked on two more in the first 4:28 of the third period to thwart any hopes of a Spartan comeback.
The Huskies’ (4-6-2) first of two quick-scoring bursts came in a 11 -second span in the first period. Mark Auk got the first on a wrist shot from the right circle at 4:55.
