COLUMBUS, Ohio — Michigan State’s reign at No. 1 in college basketball is likely to last only one week, despite ranked teams falling all around the country.
In a surprising early battle for first place in the Big Ten, the Spartans let offensive struggles carry over to their defense. And coach Tom Izzo took blame for a momentum-changing technical foul from which his team never recovered.
