EAST LANSING — As Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo went down his roster during media day commenting on each player, he poked a little fun at freshman forward Marcus Bingham.
When Bingham first stepped foot on campus, he weighed 195 pounds. But after a summer of dieting, lifting weights and practices, Bingham is at 212 pounds with the season beginning next week.
It’s a similar story for fellow freshman forward Gabe Brown, who came to MSU at 193 pounds. Just like Bingham, Brown is up to around 210 pounds. Besides dieting, there was one part of Brown’s diet he had to limit: Sugar.
