EAST LANSING -- Nick Ward suffered a low-ankle sprain in Michigan State's win over Louisiana-Monroe on Tuesday night, and while Michigan State said the injury is not serious it's unknown if the starting big man will miss any game time.
Spartans coach Tom Izzo said Ward was still "limping around" with a swollen ankle after the game and that he'll know more on Thursday, but emphasized multiple times that the injury isn't expected to be long-term.
"I don't think it's anything serious," Izzo said.
Ward landed after jumping and immediately fell to the floor with 12 minutes left in the first half.
