EAST LANSING — Michigan State’s Nick Ward injured his foot in the first half of Wednesday’s game against Louisiana Monroe.

The 6-foot-9 junior forward crashed to the floor with 12:12 left in the first half, slamming his fists against the court while laying inside the key under the basket. Ward popped himself off the floor and hobbled through the tunnel to the training room, unable to put weight on his right leg.

Ward had four points, three rebounds, a block and an assist in 5 minutes before the injury. Per the Spartan Sports Network radio broadcast, Ward has a "lower-body injury" that is not deemed series.
