EAST LANSING -- Michael Geiger knows what it's like to be an automatic kicker, who hits just about every time he gets sent out there.
In trying to become that kicker again, he's looking to keep the same even-keel approach he's taken whether times are good or bad.
"I've talked to a lot of kickers, and everybody says that you've got to stay even," Geiger said. "Even if you make one, you don't want to be gloating, you don't want to be celebrating, because you're only as good as your last kick or your next kick.
Geiger, the Spartans' junior placekicker, is taking the one-kick-at-a-time mentality as he works through a 2-for-4 start to the season on field goals.
