EAST LANSING — The future of Mark Dantonio and Michigan State's football program has taken center stage during the Spartans' four-game losing streak and two seasons of offensive misery.
But the 13th-year coach has only one thing in mind: Michigan week.
Asked Tuesday if he is thinking about his own future, with fans and alumni getting frustrated and starting to push for change, Dantonio responded succinctly:
"No. I get ready for the next game. I live in the present."
That next game comes noon Saturday at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor (Fox). The Spartans (4-5, 2-4 Big Ten) are reeling after blowing a 25-point lead and allowing Illinois to rally from a 21-point fourth-quarter deficit for a 37-34 win at MSU on Saturday.
