EAST LANSING — Michigan State had finally started to move the ball.
With less than 3 minutes to play, was it too late? Maybe Northwestern’s 29-19 lead seemed insurmountable.
But the Spartans had finally found a little bit of rhythm. Brian Lewerke certainly had, hitting six straight passes to get MSU inside Northwestern's 10.
And then the Spartans' offense sputtered out once again.
