EAST LANSING — It was a pivotal sequence in Michigan State’s victory against Michigan to clinch a share of the Big Ten title, one that even two days earlier seemed improbable.
Kyle Ahrens went airborne — at least as much as he could — and snagged a rebound. Foster Loyer collected his outlet pass and ran.
So did Ahrens, with a labored gait and an undeniable urgency. He got the ball back from Loyer in stride, then sidestepped Michigan’s Jordan Poole and put up a shot.
