EAST LANSING — Kenny Willekes knew as soon as he heard the pop that he would be coming back to Michigan State.
The leg injury the Big Ten defensive lineman of the year suffered in the Spartans’ 7-6 Redbox Bowl loss to Oregon on Dec. 31 swayed Willekes to abandon any plans to enter the NFL draft a year early.
“After that,” he said Thursday, “I knew I was coming back.
