The decision to play may end up costing Josiah Scott a season of eligibility.
However, the Michigan State (7-5, 5-4 Big Ten) sophomore cornerback made a significant impact in Saturday's 14-10 win against Rutgers and was recognized for it. Scott on Monday shared the Big Ten Co-Defensive Players of the Week award with Iowa defensive end Anthony Nelson.
Scott had a pair of interceptions and three tackles against Rutgers. He intercepted running back Isaih Pacheco in the third quarter and then helped seal with win by picking off quarterback Giovanni Rescigno at the Michigan State 3-yard line with 1:32 left in the game.
