EAST LANSING - The day last week when Michigan State basketball announced that Joshua Langford's long-awaited return wouldn't arrive as scheduled was a bit of a whirlwind.
Tom Izzo called an impromptu press conference, speaking through tears in his eyes to say that his two-way senior guard would not come back from his foot injury until January at the earliest.
Langford spoke to the public in strong spirits, but he was adamant on one point that day: He was not interested in obtaining a medical redshirt.
