The wheeling and dealing was going on early in the first round of the NBA Draft on Thursday night, but the Memphis Grizzlies had already zeroed in on their pick.
That selection, the fourth overall, was used to take Michigan State forward Jaren Jackson Jr., the 19th player coached by Tom Izzo to be taken in the draft and the 11th in the first round.
The 6-foot-11 Jackson is the highest-drafted Michigan State players since 1979 when Magic Johnson went No. 1 overall and Greg Kelser was taken at No. 4 overall.
"No words. No can describe it," Jackson said.
