Michigan State's historic comeback proves this season is unpredictable

ROSEMONT, Ill. — It took a desperation 3 after the ugliest possession of the season before the Spartans started to believe Saturday afternoon at Allstate Arena, where they eventually won, 65-60.

And even then, the most improbable comeback in school history seemed unlikely.

Until that point, until sophomore shooting guard Joshua Langford made a shot from the right wing with a little more than 13 minutes left and his team down 18, Michigan State looked like it was not only going down to Northwestern but blowing its chance at a Big Ten title.
