Back to the Michigan State Spartans Newsfeed

Michigan State's golden opportunity for another national title is over

They made one shot the last seven minutes of the game.

A. Single. Shot.

It didn't matter how open they were. Or how close they were. Or how frequent they were.

Michigan State couldn't score Sunday afternoon at LIttle Caesars arena.

Not with the hometown crowd. Not with the hometown advantage — Detroit is a quick 90 miles from East Lansing.

Not with a massive advantage on the boards and chance after chance in the closing minutes.

And so, the Spartans' season is done. In the second round. Done in by Syracuse's vexing zone, 55-53, in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
