EAST LANSING — Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio and his staff felt they did a pretty good job addressing immediate needs in the 2016 recruiting class, and the oddsmakers would seem to agree.
The Spartans' odds of winning the national championship in 2016-2017, according to online oddsmaker Bovada, improved from 33-to-1 on Jan. 13 to 25-to-1 as of Monday.
Michigan State added four, 4-star receivers in its 2016 signing class, including two midterm enrollees at the position in the form of Donnie Corley and Cam Chambers.
The Spartans addressed the departure of three defensive line starters with the addition of three players that assistant coach Ron Burton indicated are capable of getting into the defensive line rotation immediately: Josh King, Naquan Jones and Mike Panasiuk.
