Michigan State freshman guard Cassius Winston did not make the final cuts for the 2016 USA Men's U18 National Team.
Following two days of training camp in Houston, USA Basketball trimmed its roster from 17 players to 12 on Tuesday night for the FIBA Americas U18 Championship in Valdivia, Chile, next week.
Winston, a Detroit native and UD Jesuit graduate, was among the last four players cut, joining five-star 2017 high school prospects Kris Wilkes, Lonnie Walker and Brandon McCoy.
Fellow Michigan State freshman Miles Bridges was also a finalist for the team, but withdrew prior to this week's training camp for undisclosed family reasons.
