EAST LANSING -- As Michigan State's offensive struggles continued amid a rash of injuries and fan angst over coaching, one player in a green jersey had his long-awaited breakout game.
Cam Chambers recorded five catches for 82 yards in the Spartans' 29-19 loss to Northwestern on Saturday. Both marked career highs.
For the sophomore wideout, it was a day a long time in the making.
"It felt really good for me," Chambers said on Tuesday after practice. "For me, having the opportunity to finally get out there and show what I can do, not to show myself, I personally knew what I was able to go, but to have my teammates have that trust in me, my teammates and quarterback and coaches and everybody, and the whole program knows that I can make plays too.
