EAST LANSING — It was not the lasting impression Brian Lewerke wanted to leave as Michigan State’s starting quarterback.
An offense stuck in neutral, sometimes reverse. Interceptions and incompletions. A junior season marred by a shoulder injury that diminished his production every time he tried to throw the ball through the pain.
“Everyone obviously wants to leave a footprint here” Lewerke said Tuesday. “I want to improve on mine and try and get back up there and be one of the best quarterbacks here.
