College football's annual two-week watch list season wrapped up in late July with seven Michigan State players in the running for 11 national awards.
However, there are a few late additions to mention as quarterback Brian Lewerke and defensive end Kenny Willekes both landed on watch lists this week.
Lewerke, a redshirt junior, is on the watch list for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, which goes to the nation's top quarterback. Candidates must be a senior or fourth-year player and will also be judged on their "character, citizenship, scholastic achievement, leadership qualities and athletic accomplishments."
