EAST LANSING -- Suzy Merchant will take a medical leave of absence from the Michigan State basketball team, the program announced on Tuesday. No timetable has been established for her return.
Following Michigan State's Saturday game at Rutgers, Merchant remained in New Jersey to undergo testing at a local hospital.
According to a school release, Merchant experienced symptoms similar to the ones she felt on Jan. 1, when she collapsed during a home game.
Merchant was taken to a hospital following that game, and was kept overnight for observation. She missed her team's game at Purdue three days later, but returned to the sideline on Jan.
