EAST LANSING - Michigan State will be without a key member of its offense line for the season opener.
Redshirt junior Cole Chewins is not dressed for Friday night's game against Utah State (7 p.m., BTN) at Spartan Stadium.
That will end Chewins' streak of 16 straight starts at left tackle. When Michigan State released its first depth chart of the season on Tuesday, Chewins was listed as a co-starter at left tackle, along with redshirt sophomore Luke Campbell.
During pre-game warm-ups, Campbell, who started 12 games at right tackle last season, was at left tackle with the starting offense while sophomore Jordan Reid was at right tackle.
