East Lansing — The Big Ten Network announced on Monday that Michigan State will play three primetime games on its airwaves for the upcoming 2016 season.
Last year’s Big Ten champion will kick off the season in Sept. 2 when it hosts Furman at 7 p.m. followed by two road conference games in primetime.
The Spartans will take on Indiana at 8 p.m. on Oct. 1 while they will travel to face Maryland at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 22.
The defending Big Ten champions were not selected to play any primetime games on ESPN and ABC but still feature an impressive home schedule that includes a nonconference game with Brigham Young as well as visits from Wisconsin, Michigan and Ohio State.
