Taking their No. 1 ranking into Tuesday night’s game, the Michigan State Spartans will be looking to extend their record to 14-0 on the season and avoid an upset at Carver-Hawkeye Arena to one of the tougher Big Ten squads in the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Without Denzel Valentine for the second straight game, the Spartans must find someone to fill in for his scoring and defending. Valentine has one of the highest basketball IQs in the country, so that’s almost impossible to replace. Eron Harris and Bryn Forbed will have to pick up the scoring yet again and getting the ball into the post to Deyonta Davis, Matt Costello and Gavin Schilling will be key.
