Starting the season 0-2 was concerning for some Michigan State fans, but Tom Izzo knew that he would right the ship. Losing to Kentucky and Arizona in the first two games wasn’t exactly a red flag, but it was frustrating for the head coach.
The defeat against Arizona was just a two-point loss in which the Spartans gave up the game-winning layup with a couple seconds left. The Kentucky loss was just a bad performance all around, including from superstar freshman Miles Bridges.
Bridges rebounded against Mississippi Valley State on Friday night, putting up 24 points and looking like the Big Ten Player of the Year.
