Michigan State has gotten off to one of the best starts in Tom Izzo’s tenure with the Spartans, putting up an 8-0 record and moving up from No. 13 in the preseason polls to No. 3 in the latest version. If all goes as planned, the Spartans will overtake the No. 1 spot in the country as both Maryland and Kentucky lost this week.
Not often do we feel this good about a Michigan State team this early in the season, but the Spartans, despite the losses of Branden Dawson and Travis Trice, are looking like a strong national title contender this season and could bring home Izzo’s second crown.
