Michigan State (2-0) moved up five spots to No. 8 in this week's Associated Press Top 25 men's basketball poll, released Monday, while Michigan (2-0) dropped from No. 25 to just outside of the national poll following Sunday's overtime victory over Oakland.
The Spartans rolled past Notre Dame on Saturday night, 80-70, after opening the season with a victory over Eastern Michigan. They are one of four teams from the Big Ten in the top 10, following Iowa (3), Wisconsin (4) and Illinois (5).
