Michigan State’s quick start evaporated in flash on Thursday, but down the stretch, the Spartans found a way to pull out a win in the final seconds.
A day after winning on a lob on the last possession, Michigan State scored the final seven points to overcome a sloppy second half and knock off No. 22 Connecticut, 64-60, and advance to Friday’s championship game of the Battle 4 Atlantis against the Baylor-VCU winner.
Gabe Brown scored 16 for Michigan State (5-1) while Julius Marble had a career-high 15, including eight in the final three minutes to spark the Spartans’ comeback.
