EAST LANSING — Michigan State unveiled new uniforms on Thursday, including an alternate version which features bronze striping on the shoulder sleeve and a metallic dark bronze helmet with an oversize green Spartan logo on the side and no center stripe.
The away-white and home-green uniforms feature more subtle changes, specifically the style of paneling on the jersey and pants, along with a "Spartan key" design on the shoulder that's not visible unless close up.
The alternate uniform's concept is to identify Michigan State football with the ancient Greek Spartan warriors.
"I do love the all green, but this is a little change up, but at the same time it's Pro Combat,'' Spartans senior defensive end Shilique Calhoun said.
