Michigan State will close out the regular season on Saturday afternoon away from home, and that alone is a daunting task for the Spartans.
They’ve won just twice in Big Ten play away from the Breslin Center, beating Minnesota in overtime way back in December and knocking off Nebraska on Feb. 2. Other than that it’s been nothing but the same frustrations on the road.
The loss at Illinois on Wednesday was just the latest as Michigan State turned the ball over 15 times and allowed 11 3-pointers as it failed to build off the momentum it had established in two home victories last week.
