EAST LANSING -- Michigan State is going all-white.
The Spartans will wear all white jerseys and pants with white helmets for their Sept. 9 home game against Western Michigan, the team announced on Wednesday.
According to SpartanJerseys.com, this will be the first time Michigan State has worn white helmets since 1954. The team wore white helmets with a green stripe for two games that year.
Michigan State has worn white jerseys and white pants since then, including in its 2014 trip to Oregon and against Michigan before then.
But the white helmets will be a first in over 60 years.
