Michigan State to improve video access in wake of Alante Brown inquiry

East Lansing — Michigan State said Thursday it will attempt to better use video access as a tool in evaluating injuries, after a review of the medical staff’s handling of an apparent head injury to wide receiver Alante Brown in the Spartans’ season opener Friday against Central Michigan.

Brown was injured on the opening play of the game, with video replays from the broadcast showing him falling to the ground and his arms in a “fencing” position, consistent with a brain injury. Medical staff attended to Brown on the field and placed him on a backboard before he was carted off through the tunnel.
